The focus of the lab is to understand the molecular mechanisms that regulate endolysosomal trafficking pathways used by cell surface membrane proteins, which perform many crucial cellular functions. In particular, we study how surface proteins are recycled from endosomes back to the plasma membrane. We use a range of approaches, including cell biology, biochemistry and yeast genetics, to elucidate trafficking mechanisms and relate these findings to human disease.
